The Jamie Carragher 23 Foundation and The Moped Ride Round the Iberian Peninsular
Why does Jamie Carragher mean a lot to me?
Well Jamie epitomises everything I expect from a player who wears that red shirt.
He is grounded, no airs and graces and gives 100%, not only on the pitch but in his every day life.
Jamie works hard for his pay and although he earns more than us mere mortals, he remains Jamie.
A man who recognises his good fortune in becoming a professional footballer at one of the greatest clubs ever and yet never forgets where he's from.
When a supporter was stuck in Japan for the champions cup, Jamie had no hesitation in dipping into his pocket and getting the lads trip home sorted.
He has also started the 23 Foundation that assists local charities in Liverpool.
His testimonial has raised welcome funds for his foundation as has many other events he has instigated.
In todays world where footballers take take and take, we are priviledged at our club to have what can only be described as a modern day legend.
I want to help Jamie achieve his goals in raising one million as I am sure you all are.
The following ride is hoped to focus LFC supporters around the world who were unable to attend the testimonial, but wish to contribute to Jamies efforts in supporting local charities.
I will be posting details of my ride and links for twitter updates in the next day or two
In the meantime visit his website 23 Foundation and see how you can help Jamie achieve his goals
