7 Days to Departure

Time to get down to it.

Because I was dealing with getting the appealmobile mark II back from Belgium I have been a bit slow with dealing with the ride and all it entails.
For instance I srtill need to get the mot done and it is booked in on Monday. I don't anticipate any problems with that but my main concern is still the magneto, which I have tried unsuccessfully to find anyone in the UK that renovates this type.
There is a firm in Alicante called Bradford Ignitions which specialises in my bikes magneto, and although not far from Bradford myself this guy moved to Spain 20 odd years ago. But once over there if it lets me down I'll break off and bus it there with magneto in hand and get it sorted or just buy another moped to continue.

The other aspect is the ferry. Don't book ferries till you know for sure when you are leaving. The ferry I am sailing on is the Brittany Ferries crossing to Santander from Portsmouth. I was originally hoping to go Bilbao, but unfortunately there is no sailing there at the moment.220 pounds it costs which includes 113 gbp for a cabin. You can't book a shared cabin online so I have to phone to do that and hopefully save myself 6o quid which I will spend on the boat during the 24 hour crossing.
That will mean plenty of alcohol as I just checked the weather and it doesn't look to good on Friday and Saturday in the Bay of Biscay.
On arrival in Santander I will have to ride backwards to San Sebastian to commence the ride.
I will stop in a bus shelter east of Bilbao that I stayed in on the Ray of Hope ride. That will leave me a short trip into San Sebastian on Sunday morning for a lunchtime departure. I intend to start from the prom there where I had this photo taken last year on that ride.
