4 Days and Getting Scary

Like most things in my life, I get called on to deal with a lot of urgent stuff for other people that seems more important than the things I am doing. That tends to leave little time for myself and as a consequence time disappears and I am suddenly confronted by a big challenge to finalise preparations.
No different than this week and would have been fine, but there was no room for the unexpected.
Having prepared the bike for it's MOT this morning I started her up and immediately blew the rear light and the brake light. Its an old 6 volt magneto charging system that doesn't have a battery. Finding 6 volt bulbs is hard enough, but solving an unexpected problem with an antique foreign electrical system is proving quite difficult.
The one thing about the net is you can become trained in anything within an hour and I am now on my way to a diploma in auto electrical engineering, specialising at the moment in magnetos. God how I wished I'd retained all that knowledge from my physics classes back at Waterloo Grammar all thos years ago. All I need is a voltage regulator and a capacitor and all will be fine. Thats the plan but I need to set off without that so will try to get the lights through the MOT as they are and stay in the day time hours on the ride.
Hope the guarda  are not reading.
So tomorrow I need to get really cracking on making this blasted thing work if only for half an hour.
